ECO4S device GPS issues

Description:

In cases if customer reported that he is having issues with ECO4s GPS detection, this article describes what can be done in order to improve it.

Common causes:

  • Not all GNSS settings are enabled

  • Navigation filtering is disabled

  • In case if it is old device the GNSS modem might be not updated

Steps:

1. Firstly you need to check if all GNSS settings and Navigation filtering is enabled enabled by following this article: How to improve GNSS acquisition and accuracy

2. Update Device Modem FW
This step applies only to devices manufactured before June 2019. If your device is newer, you may skip this step.
You can check the manufacture date on the serial number, starting with the second symbol. If it is greater than 1925, this step does not apply.
Example: S1846Q1OU8_12256450 – you will need to update the modem firmware for this
device.

The latest ECO4s modem FW is uploaded in LCM with such name:
​root_ECO4S_MODEM_FW.gfw
​
