How to make TT2 display object fuel level (CAN) in the Fuel module

Description:

In order to make TrustTruck2 (TT2) display the object fuel level in the object Fuel module it is required to enter the fuel tank capacity and activate the fuel module in Locator control manager(LCM) object settings.

This article explains what actions needs to be done in order to make TT2 display collected fuel level data from vehicle Canbus.

Requirements:

The device should be able to collect data from vehicle CANbus and have enabled the CAN fuel level1 parameter in IO parameter list.
The vehicle must be able to provide fuel level data through CANbus.

Actions:

All needed actions will be performed in the LCM platform object settings.

  1. In the configurable parameter list for the Fuel Level parameter:

    1. In the Parameter1 column select the CAN fuel level1 parameter.

    2. Set the function to Linear in the Function column.

    3. In the columns High and Low:
      1. set Low column value 1,
      2. set High column value same as the max vehicle fuel tank capacity in liters.

    4. Press the button SET under Set constants column, the page will reload and a table with constants will appear.

  2. The constants table should contain 2 rows, you can add rows by pressing the Add row button or remove rows by pressing the Delete button.

      1. In the first row, put 0 in X and Y columns.

      2. In the second row, put 250 in the X column and in the Y column - Max fuel tank capacity in liters (same value as in column High).

      3. Press the Save button and the page will reload.

  3. For the Fuel level parameter press Recalculate button and the small window at the top of the screen will pop up, here you need to enter the date from which you want to recalculate the history
    (max range: up to 3 months. Recalculation time can variate from few minutes up to several hours, based on received records count and time range).

  4. In the Fuel Tank Report Parameters (at the bottom of the object settings page) you can set settings according to the templates in the attached examples below or make your own settings.

  5. Lastly, to activate fuel tank module press the Save button under Fuel tank Report Parameters, after a few seconds the page will reload and the Fuel module in TT2 should begin recalculating data, after recalculation the fuel module should start to display collected information.

  • 0-100 liters

  • 100-500 liters

  • 500-1000 liters

  • 1000+ liters
