Description:

Installation instructions for vehicles can be accessed from our supported vehicles lists. These instructions are our know-how, thus access to these instructions is limited. A power reader or administrator account on the documentation platform is required to access the installation instructions. Special (power reader) accounts can be created for clients so that they could download the instructions themselves without having to contact Support every single time.

NOTE: Power reader accounts can be created only for clients who have signed an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) with Ruptela!

Required information:

Client's email address

Client's company name

Steps:

How to create a Power Reader?

  1. Log in with your administrator account at https://doc.ruptela.com/portal/dashboard.

  2. Select Settings → Users and Roles from the top menu.

  3. Navigate to the Power Readers section from the left menu.

  4. Click the Create Power Reader button.

  5. In the Create New User dialog, specify the account details, and configure the access level. Enter the requested information:
5.1 Login – the credentials that will be used by the client to log in (mandatory field).
5.2 Email – provide the client’s email that the password will be sent to. This address is only used for receiving the login details and password reset. The client will not be able to see it associated with their Power Reader account (mandatory field).
5.3 User Role – assign an existing role to the user (Installation Instructions).
5.4 First Name – the name of the client, please use the company name (mandatory field).
    5.5 Middle Name
    5.6 Last Name
5.7 Time Zone – leave at Auto Detect.
5.8 Date/Time Format – leave at Auto Detect.
5.9 About – personal notes about the client.
5.10 Tick the Selected Restricted publications only and then Installation Instructions Publication checkbox on the right.

  6. Once you click OK, the system will create a new Power Reader account.

  7. Login information will be automatically sent to the e-mail address you specified in the account settings.

How to disable a Power Reader?

If clients stop using our services or no longer have a valid NDA, their accounts should be disabled. Disabled accounts are still considered “in use”, therefore you cannot create Power Readers that have the same login name. Disabled accounts can be enabled later.

NOTE: User accounts cannot be deleted, only disabled.

  1. Log in with your administrator account at https://doc.ruptela.com/portal/dashboard.

  2. Select Settings → Users and Roles from the top menu.

  3. Navigate to the Power Readers section from the left menu.

  4. Click the Disable user (deny login) button to the right of the account you want to disable.

Click the Disable user button to disable a user account

After that, the Power Reader account will be disabled and the Disable user (deny login) button will be changed to Enable user (allow login):

Click the Enable user button to enable a user account

Result:

The Client can access Ruptela documentation platform of supported vehicles list by himself.
