How to device troubleshoot locally (GNSS, power, LED)

Description:

In case you cannot reach the device locally, try other methods of troubleshoot:

Physical checks:

Make sure the device:

  • Is properly wired to a strong enough power source (it is usually 9-12V). Cellular module will not work if the device is powered with the USB cable only. Datasheets with required power supply: Tracking Devices Home

  • Has its GNSS antenna (internal or external) facing the sky and without metal objects in between.

  • Has a functioning and activated SIM card with available data.

You can check LED patterns for additional information on the device GNSS, GSM and Peripheral state:

Analysis via Device Center and Advanced Configurator:

If installation is appropriate the device is not sending any data, please, connect the device to a computer and perform the Basic Troubleshooting of your device as described in the manual: Basic Troubleshooting Guide

Check specially:

Status of the cellular module

Status of the GNSS module

Status of the Server module

Terminal log collection:

If nothing seems to provide a clue as to what is the cause of the malfunction, please collect logs as described here:
