Updated this week

Lately, we ended to develop our new Eco-Drive module. It works with 4th and 5th-generation devices that can read CAN data. Several steps have to be done one after another and cannot be skipped.

1. The first step is to unlock the devices, to do that follow these steps:

  1. Open device CFG update page;

  2. Filter out the needed client;

  3. Select objects which need eco drive;

  4. At the right corner select the option Lock/Unlock;

  5. At the pop-up window select method: GPRS, (but by selecting GPRS make sure that at the object settings the FM password is written) The answer is not received if a command was sent by GPRS
    5.1. You can select method SMS, but then select provider, it takes longer if you have different providers, for example, Telia and Vodafone. By this method you will receive an answer if unlock was done successfully at the SMS module.

  6. Mark to unlock APN but keep locked IP and Port;

  7. Press send.

After these steps, all online devices will be with unlocked APN

2. Configuration request

On the same page from all devices which need eco dive request the configuration, repeat the same first 3 actions from the previous step, then at the top right corner select request file. Then you can send the econnect command to all devices or wait a while for files to be downloaded

3. Configuration variations

While waiting for configurations to be downloaded prepare the excel sheet with columns as in the screenshot:

mceclip1.png

For the easiest way to get object names, IMEI, and SIM numbers log into https://tt2-admin.ruptela.com/login, click on reports, filter out client service provider, select object info report and filter out the client by name. Click generate the report, there will be all objects which are available for the client, delete not needed columns and add the ones from the screenshot.

After all, the configuration files are received open them one by one and fill the columns with information on how the device is configured, for example:

mceclip2.png

If your branch is using different SMS password create one more column and write there SMS password of every device.

4. Firmware update

The devices have to be with the newest firmware. Make sure that configurations are received before updating the firmware. Also if the current firmware is with the older generation of firmware do not update it straight to the newest one, update it with a few firmware between them.

5. Configuration update

After the excel sheet is filled with the information on how every device is configured apply a filter to sort and filter the objects

mceclip4.png

Then disable the values from columns, in this way all objects with the same configuration will be filtered out

mceclip6.png

Create the configurations based on how devices was configured before.

These configurations are created for basic client requirements:

Before starting to adjust the configuration as it is needed for the object, first of all, disable the Smart CAN IO Selection:

From now on it is necessary to use specific naming of the eco files. This is mandatory because of the easier workflow and for mass fleet park updates possibility in the future. Here is a breakdown of eco files naming ruling:

CIM_241216_ECO_CAN1_xx_CAN2_xx_K-Line_xx_V1_otherIOS_06.61.36

C - configuration;

IM - name and surname initials;

241216 - today's date (year, month, day);

V1 means version 1 or original configuration. If there will be any changes in the eco values the configuration has to be renamed to 1.2, 1.3 etc. to mark that eco parameters are not original.

NOTE: this is only for marking any changes in ECO values only. Other non eco changes are written in other part of the file name at _otherIOS_.

CAN1_xx_CAN2_xx_K-Line_x - what is configured. From now, if the parametre is off, we still include it in the name with prefix „f“ for example, if there are no K-Line turned on:

The configuration name will look like this:
“CAN1_Tachoread250_CAN2_FMS250_K-Line_f”.

This is must be made to make consistent and easy to find configurations.

otherIOS: - FLS’s, E-Tool, Hugo and other services, additional devices, non eco changes mentioning part. For example: CIM_241216_ECO_CAN1_Tachoread250_CAN2_FMS250_K-line_f_V1_portAB_DSF_E-Toll_06.61.36

06.61.36 - configurator version.

6. Device lock

Before saving configuration fill the SMS password based on which was before.

mceclip0.png

Then repeat the steps as it was described at 1st point, just select lock instead of unlock and press send.

7. Eco drive module activation

Contact Global support they will register the consultation for IT for further activation of eco drive module. To Global support provide TT2 client ID which can be found at Client section, also add the client name.

8. Needed parameters

At admin panel>objects, enter the client name and filter the objects by HW. then mark the ones for which eco drive was configured and select change attributes.

mceclip0.png

The new window will open, there have to be enabled parameters:

CAN axle weight 1,2,3

CAN high resolution engine total fuel used

CAN high resolution total vehicle distance

CAN fuel rate

CAN engine speed

CAN fuel level1

CAN cruise control active

CAN engine total fuel used

CAN engine percent load at current speed

CAN Gross combination weight

CAN wheel based speed

CAN accelerator pedal position1

CAN brake switch

CANBUS Parking Brake Switch

All eco drive related parameters:

mceclip1.png

Down below the parameters, there is a table with New custom inputs, there has to be enabled weight input and entered the values as in the screenshot:

mceclip3.png

Change on, Show ticked, Parameter one CAN Gross combination weight, Parameter two none, function linear, custom function empty, constants ##{{0,0},{1000,1}}, min -1, max 500000, display as none, value 0.

At the bottom hit next and at the next page save.

9. Eco drive module set up

After activation of the new eco drive module, it is a must to set up the values. Log in to the client, open the eco drive module, and select the configure scores at the top right corner:

mceclip5.png

At the pop-up window add the values from https://ruptela.atlassian.net/browse/GUI-29421, do not miss the values behind the check mark. While filling the values the system automatically saves it.

Updating existing clients:

Check if the client doesn‘t have client specific settings in eco drive module:

If the client have different than default settings, please leave notes in the ticket with different than default values and have them somewhere marked to be used in future eco configurations for the same client. Same applies to the newly configured clients.

To mark the eco values differences in the configuration after the eco update, change the configuration name from:

CIM_241216_ECO_CAN1_xx_CAN2_xx_K-Line_xx_V1_otherIOS _ 06.61.36 to CIM_241216_ECO_CAN1_xx_CAN2_xx_K-Line_xx_V1.2_otherIOS _ 06.61.36 plus if there was non eco values changes, add them to the configuration name in “otherIOS“ part.

NOTE: It is important to update the devices FW and CFG ONLY when car is without the ignition.
