Description:

Recommended when a device is currently sending data to TrustTrack2 (or capable through connect SMS command). Please follow the below steps to get a device configuration (CFG) file via Locator Control Manager (LCM).

Required information:

IMEI or object ID

SMS password (if "connect" command is necessary)

Steps:

2 - Go to Device CFG update

3 - Search an object by IMEI or object ID

4 - Select an object by "checking" it

5 - Click on Request file. A DCS command will be generated

6 - Wait for the file to be downloaded (click on Refresh to update the Request Status)

Note: Instead of waiting for the device to send data on its own to TT2, you can speed up the process by forcing a link between the device and server by sending a connect SMS command. In case the device is not configured to send data to TT2, this step is mandatory. SMS command structure:

smspassword connect 92.62.134.34,9015,TCP

*smspassword - password is used in the configuration "Authorized numbers", if a password is not used then a space symbol should be used instead.

6 - When "Request Status" changes to "Ready", go to the "CFG reception date" column and click on the date to download the CFG file (double-check if the date is the current one to avoid downloading an outdated CFG):

7 - A download pop-up will appear. Click on Save.

8 - Go to the folder where you saved the file. The file name is composed of the device IMEI plus the timestamp of the download. Change its extension from the generic .cfg to the one appropriate for the device hardware type:

Note: To change the extension of the configuration file, select it in the folder, right-click with the mouse, and select "rename" (or by selecting the file, press F2).
