Description:

In most troubleshooting cases, it is advisable and even necessary to check the device configuration.

Since we might not have the device in hand to check it locally, you might need to get it remotely: How to get device configuration remotely (general)

APN and Connection settings

Check if connection and APN settings are set correctly.

APN settings:

For device to connect to GPRS, APN settings must be entered according to the SIM card.

Below you can find APN names for Ruptela SIM cards (user and psw are not used for Ruptela cards and most others):

Teliasonera: ruptela.ts.m2m

Vodafone: m2m.ruptela.com

Tele2: ruptela.tele2.com

Telenor: ruptela.cxn

Note: If client is using their own SIM cards, you may need to confirm with client if APN settings are set correctly.

Note: Sometimes the APN may appear wrong but it can be that configuration (especially if it is factory one), is using AutoAPN function, in order to work with many different SIM providers. In that case the first APN will appear in the answer but many more are available in the list.

Connection settings (Protocol, IP and Port):

To connect to server, correct IP address must be set. Also correct PORT must be chosen according the selected data sending protocol.

TrustTrack2 IP/Port:

IP: 92.62.134.34

TCP protocol PORT: 9015

UDP protocol PORT: 7001

Note: If client is using their own server, you may need to confirm with client if IP/Port/Protocol are set correctly. Also, to further troubleshoot, ask for the server logs to check the interaction between the server and the data sent by the device.

Note: If two IPs are configured and „Two servers“ option IS NOT enabled, device can switch to 2nd server if 1st server is not available. In such case, to switch back to 1st server, you would need to restart the device by sending SMS command reset.

Note: If two IPs are configured and „Two servers“ option IS enabled, device will not send data to 2nd server if 1st server is not available.

Operator list:

Make sure the Temporary blacklist is enabled (900 seconds by default). This will make the device reject operators that do not provide GPRS connection.

Data collection

Check data collection settings:

Maybe Time without engine is too high and there is the impression that no data is received.

Also check if Engine (ignition) settings concur with the data received until now.

Data sending

Check Data sending is enabled.
